Bio:
Allspice was a very tight group of superb musicians. Pat Cahill, originally from the Akron/Canton area, was Robin Trower, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton, all rolled into one. Up north he had previously played with a popular top 40 band called Johnny Showboat. His fluid yet powerful lead guitar combined with Ed Lyons' tasteful drumming, and Joe Dodge's meticulous bass riffs, created a solid rhythm section for female vocalist Ellen Reedy and keyboardist/vocalist Tim Fleischer.

When Tim joined the other four in 1978 they were already very polished. They had been rehearsing without keyboards and male front vocals for weeks. They had developed a very eclectic - dance oriented repertoire.  They were a tight and full sounding unit with just bass, drums and guitar. So when Tim came on board to provide male lead vocals, wurlitzer piano, and synthe parts, the band was quickly ready and able to hit the streets. They began playing frequently at the local bars and the corporate party scene.

Though Allspice was a very tight and musically correct band, it was also a very short lived band. Personal problems existed within the group that could not be resolved. The band got along with each other reasonably well, but they could not seem to agree on personal goals and music styles. After only 8 short months, the band broke up. Pat moved back to the Canton area, Ed joined a country / rock band, Ellen went her separate way, and Tim and Joe went on to form the first version of Skyline.
