Bio:
A lot of the members of this band were formerly in a band called
"Holiday" -  Ed, Verena and both Steve Rich and Steve Buckley. Ed Managed a Coyle's Music store and worked with Mike Maiberger who was a big shot with the company.  Mike got wind that Ed was putting an R&B horn band together. Knowing that one of  Tim's unaccomplished musical goals was to play with an R&B type horn band, Mike was kind enough to put Ed in touch with Tim. The band was looking for a male vocalist and not a keyboard player. Brian Malder was already playing keys for the band.

An 8 piece horn band was a nightmare to organize and Ed had his hands full from the start. There were missed and unprepared rehearsals, scheduling conflicts, people playing in more than one band, and some people wouldn't even buy gear because they knew that Ed managed a music store and that he could provide what they needed.

Tim was initially a little uncomfortable with being a frontman/lead vocalist and not having a keyboard to stand behind. After a few gigs, he became more at ease with it.  At  the same time, Brian (keyboardist) was becoming a bigger and bigger problem. Brian was a very schooled musician but not very experienced in the type of music that Pyramid was playing. He was very mechanical sounding and had a lot of
trouble improvising. He also refused to invest in the proper gear to play
live. Ed often times had to bring a keyboard for Brian to play.

After an abrupt dismissal of Brian one Thursday night at rehearsal, Ed asked Tim if he'd step in to take over keys and to also continue as lead vocalist. Tim agreed.  With Verena still being the front person/female vocalist this arrangement worked out well. The problem was that this happened one day before an important weekend gig. Not a lot of time to prepare. Needless to say that Thursday night rehearsal was somewhat grueling, but the band pulled it off and the gig on Friday and Saturday night went very well.

Pyramid lasted only 11 months and during that time no other personnel changes were made. Several trombonists were auditioned but none ever panned out. Eventually with career and family obligations, it got too difficult for Ed to effectively manage the band.  Problems became bigger and more serious, and the band was even sued by a wedding client.

In February of 93 Tim announced that he was leaving the band. He managed to take the cream of the crop along with him. Mark Rigsby and Phil Clark joined Tim to form a new band called The Works. The Works was a combination of  these two excellent musicians, two other superb musicians from Tim's past bands (Mike Maiberger and Roger Alton), and Tim.
