Bio:
Fantacy was a four piece British sounding band, born in the east side of Columbus, Ohio. The members were Jim Tucke on drums, Dan Merkle on Hammond B3, Tommy Hammond on bass guitar, and Mike Maiberger on guitar and leads vocals.  The band was formed in late 1971 and ended in 1975. During the four years together, the band produced two records and appeared several times on television promoting their singles. The band played mainly area clubs and colleges throughout the state of Ohio.

Fantacy's claim to fame was being auditioned via tape for Apple records during the time of the Beatles Apple talent search. Although the band was not signed to the label, it was flattering to be in the company of other auditioning musicians such as James Taylor, Jackie Lomax and Badfinger.

After the bands break-up, Maiberger went on to form the band
Galaxy along with Tommy Hammond. After Galaxy, Maiberger met Tim Fleischer, another known Columbus musician and joined the band Skyline as bassist. Mike and Tim went on to perform together from 1985 until 2001.
